Week 9 Thing #23
I made it! I can't believe I am finally done. This was an AMAZING, WORTHWHILE EXPERIENCE! I have had so much fun doing this. I can't believe so much is out there. For some reason, I just thought things appeared on the web, not that people had a hand in putting everything out there for all of us to share. I've learned about Flickr, Blogging, Podcasts, TeacherTube, ZohoWriter, AudioBooks (availability), Mashups, and numerous other things. The list is endless. The only problem I have is TIME! TIME! TIME! Fortunately, Summer is here and it's a great time to explore.
Week 9 Thing #22
E-books and Audio books-
I personally like the Audio books more than the e-books. I have my students listen to audio books all the time. They love it! It is such a great motivational tool to get them to read. I can't wait to use this site.

Week 9 Thing # 21
I found these two Podcasts to be very enjoyable. I think the students would enjoy them as well. This one is for "Classic Poetry Aloud" http://classicpoetryaloud.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
This one is for Just Vocabulary. I like that it pronounces the word, gives the part of speech, uses it in a sentence, and gives the definition.

Week 9 Thing #20
I could not access YouTube b/c AISD blocks this site. However, I enjoyed looking through the videos at TeacherTube. I found a few videos. I especially liked the "Morning Work" video. I think it is a great idea. Unfortunately, time is a big factor in preparing things like this.
Let's see if this works. http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=819a2b3dfe2730abe322
I wish there was more out there on TeacherTube.

Week 8 Thing # 19
This was great! It would be a great way to catalog my classroom library. I think the students would love to try this before they picked out a book.
Week 8 Thing # 18
Hello, from me. I am working on my Classroom 2.0 lessons. I'm almost finished. This picture was from the Kindergarten Graduation today.
I did all of this in Zoho Writer.
This was fun. It was easy, too. This would make it so much easier when students need to complete assignments. There would not be any problems with compatability. This is a great relief! I wonder if our Technology teacher knows about this. I will have to share this with her.
Week 7 Thing # 17
Okay, I was a little confused about what I was supposed to do here. I added this to the page--"Yes, I'm sure we could write "Best-sellers" this way. I wonder how much we would make by doing this. Wouldn't it be great?" but somehow, I don't think I was supposed to.
Then, I added to the Sanbox wiki. I think this is what I was supposed to do. Anyhow, sorry if I messed up the page. Oops!

Week 7 Thing # 16
Wikis are a great way to organize your thoughts/ideas. This would be great when we do our states projects.
I like the ways libraries are using them. I especially liked the book reviews and how everything was linked together.

Week 6 Thing # 15
Copyright laws with "A Fair(y) Use Tale" - This was too cute. There was a lot of information there that I did not know before i.e. how long the material has "rights"
Library 2.0 - "Avoiding Icebergs" Libraries as we know them today will change so much within a few years. I believe it is up to the librarian to become more technologically aware. Patrons will be asking for so much and will want it immediately. This problem will be easier to overcome with Library 2.0. The trick will be for everyone to be on board/trained.

Week 6 Thing # 14
Exploring Technorati and tagging - This was way tooooooo much for me to handle. It was all very overwhelming. I guess I'm not at the advanced stage of our technological advances, but I'm getting there. I think!
Week 6 Thing # 13
Del.icio.us is a very helpful tool. I can't wait until I have more time to get myself organized. I can't tell you how many times I've racked my brain trying to remember a URL. This is well worth spending the time to get it together.
Week 5 Thing #12
Rollyo - I think this is something you would want to set up when doing a research project. We also do a states project. This would be a great way to limit the sites being browsed by our students.
I set up a search roll "For School Use" for my students to use. This is great.

Week 5 Thing # 11
I played with Google Maps. This was amazing! You could look at the world, the state, and even my house. That's scary! Anyhow, I typed in a location and I could see actual pictures of the place. I could see the actual street and everything. Way too cool!
I also played with Pandora. This was awesome! I typed in one song and then it played a bunch of songs in the same genre. It was nice. Everytime a new song came on I thought "Wow, I like that song!"
I tried to play with Google Docs, but I wasn't sure what to do. Knowing that I am already behind, I thought I should move on.

Week 5 Thing # 10
Week 4 Thing #9
I have located some feeds and added them to my blog. I hope they work. Wish me luck!
Week 4 Thing #8
I've learned so much about RSS feeds. I come to the realization that I am not as technologically savvy as I thought I was. This week was a challenge for me. I think the lack of instructions made it very frustrating. I tried to follow what the syllabus said, but could not have completed this assignment without the instructions you sent me. Thank you Jen and Shirley for your help. ABOUT the feeds, this is a great way to save time. Time we don't have. I can see how it is way more beneficial than searching each individual site for information.
